Mobility scooters are designed for people who have some mobility but are challenged by slopes or distances. A wide variety of mobility scooters, in various price ranges, are available to fit your needs. When selecting a mobility scooter you should consider where the scooter will primarily be used, indoor, outdoor or both. You also need to consider how often the scooter will be transported in a car and any whether there are any specific seating or accessory needs.

Most mobility scooters are defined by four features which separate them from power wheelchairs: Scooters are generally directed by handlebars on a tiller that steers the front wheels. The handlebars can generally be tilted and locked at the correct angle allowing a safe and comfortable ride for all users. Forward and reverse motion is controlled by two thumb levers. We only supply a range of quality scooters which generally have a rotating seat and adjustability for easy mounting/ dismounting for user comfort.

Powerchairs are controlled via an electronic joystick mounted on the arm rest.  This control is on one side of the chair and therefore can be used by partially paralysed, those with use of only one arm, those affected by stroke or similar.  They are particularly manoeuvrable and therefore suitable for use indoors and around shops etc.
